2018 - Installation on Street in Yeoungwol
Moundong was a coal mining town that was once resided by more than 10 thousands people. Now, It became very small village on the mountains where only 31 families(55 persons) live. By joining efforts, they have built the Path of the Miners which is a walking trail for the visitors that leads to the mining site on the top of the mountain.
Taking the iron-containing, gold-tinted waters from the mining shaft as its motive, The Golden Waves connects the past of Moundong with its future. I picture to myself a scene where the golden waves of water flow past the miner’s trail and spread everywhere, in pursuit of a new future.
